Scoutmaster’s Welcome

As the Scoutmaster for Troop 60 in the Minsi Trails Council, it is my distinct honor to be a part of a vibrant, fun, and growing Boy Scout program. In my experience, there is no comparable program available that can rival the positive impact that scouting has on our young boys.

I became involved in the scouting program back in 1984, about 1 year after my oldest son joined Troop 60 (my youngest son joined in 1993). While they have grown up and are adults now, I remain active in the program to this day.  Since becoming Scoutmaster in 1998, I have proudly bestowed the highest rank of Eagle Scout to 29 young men over the years and every one of them a testament to the strong program we have built here at Troop 60.

Of course, I am just a part of a larger organization and support network that includes a team of trained adult scout leaders from all walks of life, an engaged sponsoring organization with a long history and proud scouting tradition dating back over 50 years, and involved parents, guardians, and family members.

We are a medium sized troop with about 18-24 boys ranging in age from 10 to 17 years old.  If you are looking for a diverse, active, organized troop, you are welcome to visit with us on Monday nights at the Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Give your young boy the opportunity to learn positive life skills and build memorable experiences with the Boy Scout program of Troop 60.
